Food Security Commission receives 100 Tons of Dates from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Deputy Commissioner for Food Security, Mr. Mohamed Ould Mohamed El Id Ould Khayar, received on Monday evening 12 April in Nouakchott, 100 tons of dates, donated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The donation was presented by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Mauritania, H.E Mr. Houzaa Ben Zeben Ben Dhawi El Matari.

In a speech on this occasion,the deputy commissioner indicated that this donation is part of the fruitful cooperation between the Food Security Commission and the King Salman Charity and Humanitarian Action center. It also reflects the level of relations of fraternity and cooperation between the two brotherly countries, Mauritania and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He added that the dates will be distributed to the poorest citizens in rural areas in the interior of the country.

on his part, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia said that he was happy to participate in the ceremony of handing over this donation, stressing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has the habit of making such donations each year to a number of Muslim countries, including Mauritania.

He pointed out that this donation is a testament to the the fruitful cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
