Minister of Digital Transformation Returns to Nouakchott

On 8 May, Mr. Mohamed Abdallah Louly, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Modernization of the Administration, returned to Nouakchott from Geneva, where he participated in the 7th session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on E-commerce and the Digital Economy, seventh session organized by UNCTAD in Geneva from 6 to 10 May 2024 under the theme “Building the future of the digital economy in developing countries”.

The Minister participated in the round table on strengthening digital preparedness and met, on the sidelines of the conference, the Secretary General of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

The 2024 session focused on how to increase UNCTAD’s capacity to help developing countries participate in and benefit from the digital economy, narrow the digital gap, create more inclusive knowledge societies, and try to pave the way for safer and more reliable digitalization.
