Mauritania selected as a member of the Executive Board of the Arab Center for the Study of Arid Zones and Drylands

The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Memma Ould Beibata, participated, on Wednesday in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of his Saudi counterpart, Mr. Abdul Rahman Abdul Mohsen Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, in the meetings of the General Assembly of the Arab Center for the Study of Arid Zones and Drylands (ACSAD), where our country was chosen as a member of the Executive Board of this center.
During the opening ceremony of the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture noted, in a speech on the occasion, the brotherly relations that have existed between our country and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia throughout the ages.
He praised the existing cooperation between his sector and the Arab Center for the Study of Arid Zones and Dry lands (ACSAD), and the selection of our country as a member of its Executive Council, and expressed all readiness to deepen this cooperation in all relevant fields to benefit from ACSAD’s expertise, especially with regard to water harvesting, conservation agriculture and desert agriculture.
The Minister of Agriculture also participated, this evening, in the meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, which was attended by the ministers of the member countries of the Organization in addition to its Director General, Professor Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Dukhiri.
The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Mema Ould Beibata, also held several meetings, on the sidelines of these meetings, with the heads of the participating Arab delegations as well as some of the participating personalities.
