Seminar on the role of Shanaqita Scholars in Strengthening Mauritanian-Kuwaiti Relations

The Mauritanian Association of Graduates of the State of Kuwait organized on Sunday evening at the headquarters of the Diplomatic Academy in Nouakchott, a cultural seminar under the title: “The Role of Scholars in Building Relations between Mauritania and the State of Kuwait”.

Through this seminar, the Association seeks to shed light on the role played by some Mauritanian scholars in the State of Kuwait in order to enhance the status of Shanaqita and make them a reference to be followed.

In a speech on the occasion, the President of the Mauritanian Association of Kuwaiti Graduates, Mohamed Salem Ould Abdullah Al-Kouri, praised the historical Mauritanian-Kuwaiti relations, which resulted in the settlement of the Mauritanian-Kuwaiti debt file in 2021 and the identification of roadmap steps that would close the debt file.

He called on the Mauritanian government to adapt these relations to the evolving needs for training in the fields of digitization and oil and gas.

The lecturers at the symposium dealt with the role played by the Kuwaiti magazine Al-Arabi in exploring Mauritania as an Arab country whose inhabitants are interested in Arabic poetry, culture and reading, highlighting in this regard, the role of the scientific movement taken by the Shanaqta towards the East, and the directions taken by the inhabitants of the Mauritanian field in general in order to seek knowledge in the Arab Mashreq.
