. Minister of Economy Signs three Agreements with the World Bank Worth 2.66 Billion Ouguiya

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Abdessalam Ould Mohamed Saleh, signed, on Thursday in Washington, on the sidelines of the spring meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, with the Vice President of the World Bank, Mr. Ousmane Diagana, three financing agreements (two grants and a loan), dedicated to financing the health system support project (Enaya Expanded).

The total amount of these funds amounts to 67 million and 300 thousand US dollars, equivalent to about 2 billion and 661 million new ounces, including a grant from the International Development Association of 6 million and 730 thousand US dollars, and a grant from the Resources of the International Finance Facility of 15 million US dollars.

This funding will improve access to high-quality reproductive and maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health and nutrition services, as well as increase the availability of these services in selected regions, as well as the rapid and efficient response required in the event of a qualifying emergency crisis.

On this occasion, the Minister of Economy expressed the full gratitude of the Mauritanian government and people to the World Bank for this important support, which will have a positive impact on the economic and social development of our country.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Mohamed Lemine Ould Dhehbi, Her Excellency the Ambassador of our country in Washington, Mrs. Sissa Beidda, and Mr. Mohamed Salem Nani, Director General of Finance and Economic Cooperation.
