President of Senegal Arrives in Nouakchott on Friendly, Working Visit to Mauritania

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, arrived Thursday morning in Nouakchott, at the beginning of a friendly and working visit to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, which is the first foreign visit of His Excellency after assuming this post at the beginning of this month.

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, the rotating Chairman of the African Union, was at the head of the reception of the Senegalese guest at the flight ladder at Nouakchott International Airport Oumtounsi, surrounded by His the Prime Minister Mohamed Ould Bilal Messaoud, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed and Security Forces, the Chief of Special Staff of the President of the Republic, the Governor of Nouakchott West, the Vice-President of the Nouakchott Region and the ambassadors of the two brotherly countries.

After listening to the Mauritanian and Senegalese national anthems, and reviewing formations of honorary ceremonies, HE the Senegalese President shook hands with the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Council, the Minister, the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister Counsellor at the Presidency of the Republic, members of the government, dignitaries in the State, members of the African diplomatic corps accredited in Mauritania and a number of representatives of the Senegalese community residing in Mauritania.

In turn, His Excellency the President of the Republic shook hands with the delegation accompanying His Excellency the Senegalese President, which includes a number of high-ranking personalities, including:

– Yassine Vall, Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs,

– Malik Ndiaye, Minister of Infrastructure, Land and Air Transport,

– Fatou Diouf, Minister of Infrastructure, Maritime and Port Infrastructure,

– Sonar Ngom, Minister and Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the Republic,

– Biram Mbagnik Ndiaye, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to Mauritania,

– Mamadou Ndiaye Ambassador, Chief of Protocol.
