A delegation from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania headed to Washington last night to participate in the spring meetings of the IMF Group and the World Bank, which will take place from April 15 to 20.
The delegation, which includes the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Abdesselam Ould Mohamed Saleh, the Minister of Finance Isselmou Ould Ahmed Mbadi and Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania Mohamed Lemine Ould Dehbhi, will participate in three meetings with the Commissioners of the African Union and the Group of Twenty to coordinate the first participation of the African Union as a permanent member for the first time in the G20 meetings.
The delegation is also expected to hold working sessions with senior officials of these international financial institutions, as well as a number of senior international financial figures attending the meetings, to discuss issues of global concern, such as global economic prospects, poverty eradication, economic development, climate change, energy transition and investment in human capital.
Mauritania, by virtue of its current chairmanship of the African Union, chairs ministerial and technical meetings at the continental level.
