Mauritania’s Ambassador to Finland Presents Credentials

On 10 April, in Helsinki, HE Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Brahim Khlil presented his credentials to His Excellency Mr. Alexander Stubb, the President of Finland, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Republic of Finland, with residence in Brussels.

After the presentation of the credentials, the Ambassador conveyed to His Excellency President Alexander Stubb the greetings of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, and his wishes for progress and prosperity for the Finnish people.

He also informed him of the efforts made by our country since Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani came to power, particularly in the fight against poverty, terrorism, and irregular migration.

The meeting was also an opportunity for exchanging views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation and the means to strengthen it, as well as on the situation in the Sahel region. For his part, President Alexander Stubb conveyed his greetings to HE Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani and his congratulations on his accession to the rotating presidency of the African Union.

He also praised the efforts made by Mauritania for its economic and social development and in the fight against irregular migration and terrorism and its causes in the sub-region, emphasizing his country’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Mauritania in these areas.
