President of Republic Holds an Iftar Ceremony in Honor of a Group of Young People

Nouakchott

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, held an iftar ceremony on Thursday evening in the hospitality suite of the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott in honor of a group of young people representing samples from the various spectrums of this pivotal segment in any development process in the country.

This iftar – which turned into an open meeting during which young people presented their opinions on the reality of this segment and its future aspirations – comes within the framework of the care that the President of the Republic gives to young people and the roles they must play in order to develop their country and push it to the ranks of developed countries.

During the past four years, the Mauritanian government has adopted a group of development projects and programs that work in their entirety to promote youth entrepreneurship, empower young people with economic opportunities, encourage them to innovate and benefit from new technologies, enhance their training and arm them with technological equipment capable of changing their social and economic conditions, and open various fields to them, and enhancing their access to electoral and political positions.

During the meeting, the speakers thanked the President of the Republic for the numerous opportunities he provided to the youth segment during the past four years, whether through the development projects and programs directed to them or through the care that His Excellency gave them.

They appreciated the development and social plans and policies drawn up by the President of the Republic, which will enable our country to overcome the obstacles it has suffered from during the coming periods, noting that these efforts are supported by a wise political approach that adopted political calm and openness to all as an approach and behavior to deal with and listen to everyone without exclusion or marginalization.

They said that this blessed iftar constitutes an appreciated initiative by His Excellency the President of the Republic, which confirms His Excellency’s interest in their problems and his serious endeavor to support and assist them by providing favorable conditions to enhance their access to various aspects of the state through multiple subscriptions to public employment, strengthening and diversifying vocational training schools, and adopting a parliamentary regulation for them.

They pointed out that the high hopes they place on the President of the Republic allow them to present a set of demands to enhance the process of supporting youth and activating their access to various fields. In this context, they call for expanding the sports infrastructure, encouraging sports clubs and cultural associations, and actual involvement in all sectors and national bodies.

The iftar ceremony took place in the presence of the First Lady, Dr. Maryem Dah, the Minister Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, the Minister Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports and Relations with Parliament, and the Secretary-General of the Ministry.
