On 2 April, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, returned to Nouakchott from the Senegalese capital, Dakar, where he attended the swearing-in ceremonyof the Senegalese President-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye.
The President of the Republic was received at the Nouakchott International Airport by the Minister of Interior and Decentralization, the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister Counselor at the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministers of Justice and National Defense, the Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, the Deputy Director of Cabinet of the President of the Republic, the Wali Mouçaid of Nouakchott West, and the Vice President of the Nouakchott region.
The President of the Republic was accompanied by a large delegation including:
– Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diaye, the Minister in Charge of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic,
– Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad,

– Mr. Ahmedou Ould Ahmedou, the Ambassador of Mauritania to Senegal,
– Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Sidi Jafar, an officer in charge of special duties at the Presidency of the Republic,
– Mr. Mahmed Ould Ghaber, an officer in charge of special duties at the Presidency of the Republic,
– Ms. Aïssata Diallo, an advisor at the Presidency of the Republic,
– Mr. El Hassen Ould Ahmed, the Director General of State Protocol
