President of Republic Congratulates Senegal’s President-Elect

Following the publication of the first results of the presidential election in Senegal, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, sent a message of congratulations to the President-elect, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, for the confidence that the Senegalese people granted to him to assume the heavy responsibilities associated with the supreme magistracy.

The President of the Republic welcomed the climate of serenity and responsibility which prevailed during this election and which reflects, admirably, all the maturity of Senegalese democracy.

He also expressed his constant availability and his sincere desire to work with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to develop, by further diversifying it, bilateral cooperation between the two countries and strengthen, even more, the centuries-old ties of friendship and fraternity which unite the two brotherly people.
