His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, hosted on Thursday evening at the hospitality pavilion of the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, an Iftar party in honor of 126 representatives of the Taazur community, which includes needy families who have benefited from the various projects and multiple services implemented by the General Delegation for National Solidarity and Combating Exclusion G (Taazur) since its establishment in late 2019 until today.
This iftar, during which the President of the Republic sat at the same table alongside representatives of these families, demonstrates the care he attaches to the vulnerable classes of society and his relentless pursuit to change their situation through development projects designed specifically for them during the past four years, which contributed significantly to improving their daily life in various fields.
In recent years, the General Delegation for National Solidarity and Combating Exclusion (Taazur) has worked to change the situation of this society, which numbers more than 1.5 million people, by working to achieve social protection, eradicate all forms of inequality, promote national harmony, and coordinate all interventions in the targeted areas.
The General Delegation for National Solidarity and Combating Exclusion (Taazur), which was part of the electoral platform of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, “My Commitments”, aims to eradicate the various manifestations of poverty and injustice, by promoting local development and creating sources of wealth by expanding universal access to basic services; supporting economic integration and developing productive activities; improving the framework of life of vulnerable and poor groups; developing social safety nets, enhancing incomes, improving food security and supporting the purchasing power of vulnerable segments of society.
To carry out this task, the delegation adopted five specialized programs, each with specific interventions, including the “Amal” program to ensure food security, the “Takaful” program to enhance the effectiveness of social safety nets and improve purchasing power, the “Dari” program to improve the framework of life, the “Baraka” program for promotion and economic integration, and the “Sheila” program to facilitate access to basic services.
The interveners on behalf of the Synergy Community, praised the great achievements of the vulnerable classes of society in various regions of the country, which contributed to changing the reality of these classes.
They noted that these achievements covered multiple areas, including cash distributions, health insurance, and enhancing access to water and electricity services, education and health.
They stressed that the care given to the vulnerable classes of society during the past four years is unprecedented in the history of the country, thanking the President of the Republic for this great and distinguished effort, which contributed to changing their reality for the better and opened up great hopes for them.
