Mauritania, Algeria sign Agreement on Health Co-operation

On the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Algeria, the Minister of Health, Mrs. Naha Hamdi Meknas, signed with her Algerian counterpart, Mr. Abdelhak Sayhi, a cooperation agreement between the two countries covering the fields of public health and prevention, institutional cooperation, and hospital management.

This agreement will enable the exchange of information, documents and legislation related to health, the exchange of expert visits to learn about experiences in the fields of training and organization of health services, health surveillance at the border level, coordination between border officials in the field of health with a view to caring for citizens, and participation in scientific and medical conferences organized in the two countries.

The two parties agreed to establish a joint technical committee entrusted with the follow-up, evaluation and implementation of the agreement, to meet annually alternately in each of the two countries.
