President of Republic Receives Written Message From Congolese Counterpart

On 23 January, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received a written message from His Excellency Mr. Denis Sassou-Nguesso, the President of the Republic of Congo.

The message was delivered by Mr. Jean-Claude Gakosso, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie, and Congolese Abroad, the Special Envoy of the Congolese president. 

In a statement to the Mauritanian news agency, at the end of the meeting, the Congolese official said he was very honored to have been received by His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, to whom he delivered a message from his brother and friend President Denis Sassou Nguesso, the Chairman of the African High-Level Committee on Libya

He added that the message contains an invitation to His Excellency to participate in a summit on the issue of Libyan reconciliation, to be held in Brazzaville on 5 February. 

The Congolese minister indicated that the summit is part of the support for the reconciliation conference in Libya, which the Libyans themselves decided to organize in the city of Sirte, which requires the support of all leaders and members of this committee.
