Ndiago: President of Republic Lays First Stone of High Voltage Power Line Project

On 23 December, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, laid the first stone of the high voltage power line project (90 kilovolts), connecting Keurmacen to the port of Ndiago.

The project will supply electricity to the port of Ndiago, develop the national electricity transmission network, and improve access to electricity in this geographical area.

The duration of this project, supervised by the Mauritanian Electricity Company (SOMELEC), is 12 months, and its total cost amounts to 3.2 billion ouguiyas, thanks to financing from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (FADES).

The project consists of expanding the 90/33 kV Beni Naaji power plant, building a 90 kV power line connecting the Beni Naaji power plant to the NDiago port, over a length of 39 km, and building a new transformer station at Ndiago port with a capacity of 10 megavolts amps.
