President of Republic Lays the First Stone of Rosso Solid Waste Landfill Project, Inaugurates Regional Council Headquarters

On 22 December, in Rosso, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, laid the foundation stone of Rosso’s solid waste management project and inaugurated the headquarters of the Trarza Regional Council.

The project enabled the acquisition of 6 multi-chain solid waste management trucks, 20 garbage bins, and chargers for the landfill center, and 14 tricycles for transporting waste. The project also includes the completion of a temporary discharge and landfill center using specialized techniques, as well as public solar lighting for some of the city’s main axes, the rehabilitation, and expansion of the Rosso municipality building, and planting palm trees in the city center.

The inauguration of the Regional Council headquarters is part of the importance attached by the President of the Republic to the promotion of decentralization which makes it possible to implement effective local development that brings public services closer to the citizens and makes them a pivotal partner in the design and implementation of programs and projects in their favor.
