On Wednesday 20 December in Marrakech, Kingdom of Morocco, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, participated in the meeting of the sixth session of the Arab-Russian Forum.
In a speech during the meeting, Minister of forign affairs stressed that the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, under the wise leadership of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, is engaged in embodying the principles and objectives of the Arab-Russian Forum, noting that our country has strong and deep-rooted relations with the Russian Federation, governed by mutual respect and striving to enhance cooperation and fruitful partnership between them in various fields.
On the other hand, he stressed that the atrocities that the Gaza Strip has been witnessing, for nearly three months, unprecedented in our modern history, put the international community and the United Nations system, especially the Security Council, at stake in shouldering their responsibilities to stop the war of extermination, starvation and the comprehensive siege to which unarmed civilians are subjected in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.
