Minister of Foreign Affairs Participates in Seminar on Private Investment Opportunities to Finance African Industrialization

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, participated, on Monday in Madrid, Spain, in a seminar on “Private investment opportunities to finance African industrialization as part of the partnership between the European Union and the African Union”.

The Minister’s participation in this seminar comes within the framework of his representation of our country in the high-level meeting organized in cooperation between the Spanish Government and the African Union Commission, under the theme: “Transformational Investments in Africa: Unlocking Job Creation Initiatives”.

In his intervention, HE the Minister reviewed the challenges facing investment and sustainable development in the African continent, focusing on the investment opportunities available in our country in the fields of industry, renewable energy and green hydrogen in particular.

In this regard, he stressed that the climate of security and stability that the country currently enjoys and the reforms and guarantees contained in the new investment code are stimulating and encouraging factors for investment.
