On 14 December, in Nouakchott, Mr. Sidi Yahya Ould Cheikhna Lemrabott, the Minister of Civil Service and Labor, indicated that the labor market in Mauritania mainly revolves around the fishing and mining sectors.
In this context, Mauritania has been working since the accession to power of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, to modernize the employment system and improve the functioning of justice to create good conditions for investment and employment opportunities.
Taking part in the International Conference on the Labor Market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he indicated that the national legislation has been revised to take into account the requirements of the labor market in light of the discovery of gas and oil and the establishment of a set of programs aimed at young people to help them access this market.
He thanked Mr. Ahmed bin Suleiman al-Rajhi, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, for his kind invitation and the hospitality he has received since his arrival.
The Minister also affirmed that the first international conference on the labor market in Riyadh was a golden opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences on the global labor market, the recommendations of which should make it possible to address the challenges the world faces in reducing unemployment.
