Mauritania Participates in Tenth Session of Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption

Mauritania participated in the tenth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, which kicked off on Monday in Atlanta, United States of America

Our country is represented at the Conference by a delegation headed by the Inspector General of State, Mr. El Hassan Zein, and the membership of Mr. Khalil El-Emine, Director General of the Office for the Management of Frozen, Seized and Confisced Property and the Collection of Criminal Assets, and Mr. Sayed Mohamed Beida, State Inspector.

In his speech at the conference, the Inspector General of State, Mr. El-Hassan Zein, condemned the grave violations against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, including the killing of children and women and the destruction of civilian and health facilities, calling for an immediate cessation of this aggression.

He stressed that this session is of great importance, not only as a global platform for spreading the culture of combating corruption and exchanging experiences and expertise, but also because of the decisions it will entail, which will undoubtedly be reflected in the development of mechanisms to prevent corruption and strengthen mechanisms of cooperation and coordination, calling for reviewing and developing these mechanisms, opening the door wide for the participation of all to devote the objectives of the Convention, dry up the sources of corruption and prevent the existence of safe havens for looted funds.
