Human Rights Commissioner Meets With UN Working Group on Discrimination Against Women

On 12 December, in Geneva, Mr. Cheikh Ahmedou Ould Ahmed Salem Ould Sidi, the Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action, and Relations with Civil Society, received a delegation from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, led by Mr. Eric Holstein, coordinator of the Special Procedures Unit on Equality, Racism, and Participation.

The working meeting discussed areas of cooperation, particularly regarding the follow-up on the recommendations made to our country following the visit of the UN Working Group on Discrimination against Women and Girls, and capacity building of governmental and non-governmental actors on the ground.

The UN delegation thanked the Commissioner for the welcome and generosity, expressing appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between our country and the UN human rights bodies.
