During the eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in Kazan, Republic of Botswana, the Mahdhara (Traditional Mauritanian School) was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity at UNESCO.
Our country was represented at this session by an important delegation headed by the Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Mr. Dah Ould Sidi Ould Amar Taleb, Acting Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports and Relations with Parliament.
