His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, returned at dawn Tuesday to Nouakchott from the United Arab Emirates, after participating in the summit of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
On the sidelines of the summit, the President of the Republic held meetings with a number of his counterparts, heads of brotherly and friendly countries, and paid a visit to Mauritania’s pavilion at the exhibition held on the sidelines of the Climate Summit.
His Excellency the President of the Republic then attended the Union Day celebrations in the UAE capital, along with his brother, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, and supervised the inauguration of the Mauritanian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
HE the President of the Republic was received at Nouakchott International Airport by Prime Minister Mohamed Bilal Messoud, Minister Counsellor of the Presidency of the Republic, a number of members of the Government, the Chief of Special Staff of the President of the Republic, the Assistant Director of the Office of the President of the Republic, the Wali of Nouakchott West, and the Vice-President of the Nouakchott Region.
