President of Republic Lays Foundation Stone for Construction of Solar Power Plant

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, laid on Sunday in the city of Zouerate the foundation stone for the construction of a solar power plant, with a production capacity of 12 megawatts.

The project will increase the amount of electricity production in this province and increase the share of renewable energy in the energy mix in this mining city, where energy is a major source of iron extraction.

The total cost of this project, which is expected to be completed within nine months, is $ 10,757,284, funded by the National Industrial and Mining Company  (SNIM).
