President of Republic Lays Foundation Stone for Construction of Thermal Station

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, supervised on Sunday in Zoueratt, as part of the celebrations commemorating the 63rd anniversary of National Independence Day, the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of a thermal station, with a production capacity of 30 megawatts.

This project will increase the amount of electricity production at this moughataa to keep pace with the development of the activities of the Société Nationale de l’Industrie et des Mines (SNIM), and to meet the growing economic and social energy needs.

The total cost of the project, which is expected to be completed in 17 months, is around €55,125,025, funded by the National Company for Industry and Mines (SNIM).
