First Lady : The idea of Establishing a Center for Autistic Children came about in Response to the Suffering of Mauritanian Families

The First Lad, Dr. Mariam Fadel Dah, said that in response to the pain of Mauritanian families and in rejection of this painful reality, they decided to establish a Mauritanian center for the care of autistic children, noting that despite the difficult circumstances and the combination of discouraging factors, such as the lack of centers to care for autistic children or any local alternatives for rehabilitation, and the lack of medical and social education related to the subject, they established the Zayed Center for the Care of Autistic Children, as the first institutional structure specialized in the field.

During her supervision on Thursday in Nouakchott of the inauguration of the headquarters of the Zayed Center for Autistic Children, the First Lady explained that the establishment of this facility contributed awareness-raising about autism and increasing sponsorship of autistic children.
