On 9 November, in Nouakchott, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdoullah Ben Boye, received HE Ms. Cynthia Kirscht, the US Ambassador to Mauritania.
During the meeting, the American diplomat gave the minister a copy of the official document, which includes Mauritania’s return to the African Growth and Opportunity Act known as AGOA, which is the fruit of the efforts made by the government to improve judicial practice in the area of judicial treatment of cases of human trafficking and slavery practices. It also discussed the program of joint action in this area.
Mr. Ben Boye highlighted the government’s continued efforts to promote and protect human rights, in general, and to work toward the improvement and development of judicial treatment in the area of human trafficking and slavery practices through the intensification of awareness-raising and training.
