Minister of Economy Holds Talks with China’s NDRC Vice Chairman

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Abdesselam Ould Mohamed Saleh, held talks on Monday in Beijing with Mr. Cong Liang, the Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC).

During the meeting, the minister congratulated the Chinese official on the successfull organization of the third “Belt and Road” forum, and valued the initiative, which constitutes one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects ever conceived.

The Belt and Road Initiative, launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013, is an initiative to strengthen regional connectivity through a land belt and sea route linking more than 60 countries to China to reactivate the trade route that was known as the Silk Road.
