Minister of Environment Leaves for Abidjan

On 26 September, the Minister of the Environment, Ms. Lalia Ali Kamara, left Nouakchott for Ivory Coast to participate in the first edition of the West African platform on coal that Abidjan will host from 26 and 28 September in Abidjan.

This meeting aims to exchange experiences on the use of climate financing, in general, and those linked to coal market mechanisms as a financing tool for coal strategies at the regional level. It also aims to share visions and objectives, as well as experiences, challenges, and opportunities identified by the governments of West African countries regarding the use of coal.

The session will discuss in depth the development of a law to integrate the private sector into the coal markets.
