Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives High-Level Delegation of Arab League

On 3 August, in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, received a high-level delegation from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, led by Ambassador Hossam Zaki, the Deputy Secretary General and Director of the Cabinet of the Secretary-General.

During the meeting, the Minister gave a presentation on the ongoing preparations for organizing the fifth session of the Arab Economic Summit to be held in Nouakchott next November.

The Arab League delegation arrived in Nouakchott to meet with the competent authorities on preparations underway for the Arab Summit for Economic and Social Development that our country will host on 7 November 2023.

The Arab League delegation held a working session with officials from the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, dedicated to taking stock of the state of progress of the preparations for this summit, which should lead to important decisions likely to strengthen joint Arab action in the economic and social fields.
