G5-Sahel Condemns Coup Attempt in Niger

On 26 July, the G5-Sahel strongly condemned the coup attempt perpetrated on Wednesday in the Republic of Niger.

This emerges from a statement released by the Group and reads as follows:

“The G-5 Sahel expresses its firm condemnation of the attempted coup in the Republic of Niger and renews, in this regard, its firm rejection of any attempt to seize power unconstitutionally.

It calls for coordinated efforts to ensure the security and stability of the Republic of Niger and to preserve its elected constitutional institutions”.
