On 11 June, in Riyadh, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Ousmane Mamoudou Kane, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, participated together with Mr. Cheikh El Avia Ould Mohamed Khouna, the President of the Mauritanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, at the deliberations of the first day of the 10th conference of Arab China Business Conference.
The conference, which is organized by the Saudi Ministry of Investment in partnership with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Union of Arab Chambers, under the theme of “Cooperation for Prosperity”, aims to closely strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the Arab and Chinese business communities and explore quality investment opportunities in many sectors including technology, renewable energy, agriculture, land, mining, supply chains, and innovation.
Today’s panel discussions and workshops, which were attended by 150 of the world’s leading expert speakers and 3,000 decision-makers from 23 states, covered several topics, including social and environmental responsibility and governance and building the resilience of supply chains.
It is noteworthy that the commercial movement between the Arab Nation and China is experiencing a great development. Indeed, the value of these exchanges reached 430 billion US dollars in 2022 for a growth rate of 31% compared to the year 2021.
China’s foreign direct investment in Arab markets reached $23 billion in 2021.
This meeting will see the signing of several development and investment agreements between Arab and Chinese businessmen, which is likely to increase trade between the two parties.
