President of Republic Receives Japanese Ambassador’s Credentials

On 27 April, in Nouakchott,  His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of HE Mr. Ishida Taskini, in his capacity as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Empire of Japan to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Republic received the Japanese diplomat in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.

Shortly after the meeting, Mr. Taskini made a statement in which he said he was honored to have been received by the President of the Republic to whom he expressed his determination to devote his efforts to promoting friendly relations between the two countries, saying: “I intend to diversify Japan’s cooperation while working hand in hand with Mauritania to achieve our common interests, aspirations, and goals. »

The Japanese diplomat added: “I also transmitted to the President of the Republic the wish of the Emperor of Japan to further develop friendship and trust between our two countries. » The Ambassador expressed special thanks to all the Mauritanians for the hospitality he had received since his arrival in Mauritania, which he described as a beautiful country, before renewing his commitment to work for the strengthening and expansion of the partnership between Japan and Mauritania.
