On 12 April, in Washington, the Mauritanian delegation participating in the periodic meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group (spring 2023 meetings) held a working session with the mission of the International Monetary Fund in charge of our country’s files.
This delegation includes: the Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, the Minister of Finance, and the Governor of the Central Bank, respectively: Messrs. Ousmane Mamoudou Kane, Isselmou Ould Mohamed M’badi, and Mohamed Lamine Ould Dhehbi.
This session was devoted to the discussion of the cooperation and reform program between our country and this body, where the various challenges and achievements in this field were reviewed.
The economic reform program that our country is implementing with the support of the IMF includes a set of policies aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability, strengthening the public budgetary and monetary policy framework, and improving governance to consolidate the sustainable growth and the fight against poverty.
