President of Republic, Equatoguinean Counterpart Affirm Agreements Signed To Boost Bilateral Cooperation

His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, indicated that the talks he had with his Equatoguinean counterpart were an opportunity to review with his brother, His Excellency Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbassogo, all matters of common interest.

During a joint news conference with his Equatoguinean counterpart on 11 October at the Presidential Palace in Malabo, on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of bilateral cooperation agreements, he added that their meeting was an opportunity to explore together the ways and means of strengthening and developing relations between the two brotherly countries to make them a model of South-South cooperation.

He revealed that his visit to Equatorial Guinea was marked by the signing of numerous agreements and memorandums of understanding defining the framework for cooperation in different areas, just as it opens wide the door to government sectors and private operators for valuable opportunities for investment, cooperation, and partnership between the two brotherly countries.

His Excellency the President of the Republic stressed that the visit also enabled him to appreciate the achievements made in the interest of the people of Equatorial Guinea, in a climate of peace and security, just as it enabled him to share with this brotherly people the joys of its national Independence Day, ensuring that from every point of view the visit was a great success.

For his part, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea expressed his sincere thanks to the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania for having responded to his invitation and accepted to participate as guest of honor in the commemorative festivities of the 54th anniversary of the independence of Equatorial Guinea.

He stressed the importance of strengthening and developing cooperation relations between the two countries, noting that the cooperation agreements and the memorandums of understanding signed during the current visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to Equatorial Guinea fits perfectly into the perspective of strengthening bilateral ties in the interest of both countries.

They will serve to strengthen cooperation mechanisms and create spaces for exchanging experiences and expertise in different fields, as he put it.
