His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, returned to Nouakchott this Sunday from Paris, following a state visit to France at the invitation of his French counterpart, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron.
This visit marked an important step in strengthening the Franco-Mauritanian partnership, built on trust, ambition, and a shared vision serving the interests of both countries.
Upon his arrival at Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport, the President was welcomed by the Prime Minister, Mokhtar Ould Djay; the Minister-Advisor to the Presidency, Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallahi Ben Boya; the Minister of Justice, Mohamed Ould Soueidatt; the Minister of Defense, Veterans and Children of Martyrs, Hanena Ould Sidi; the Minister of the Interior, Decentralization and Local Development, Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine; the Director of the President’s Cabinet; as well as Major General Mohamed El Mokhtar Cheikh Emeni; the Wali of Nouakchott Ouest, Hamoud Ould M’Hamed; and the Vice-President of the Nouakchott Region, Hawa Sidibé.
The President was accompanied by a high-level delegation that included:

Among private sector figures, Mohamed Zine El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed, President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers, was also part of the delegation.
