His Excellency the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ben Atou, said that the Algerian-Mauritanian relations are experiencing an increasing dynamic, noting that they are relations of historical depth.
He added that the relations between the two countries are based on ties of kinship and social, cultural and spiritual bonds, and are governed by geographical proximity.
He also indicated that the leaders of the two countries are making great efforts to lay new blocks to strengthen the edifice of these relations, and to seek to strengthen them in various fields, noting that among them is the visit of His Excellency the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazwani, to Algeria at the end of the last year.
The ambassador said that this visit resulted in many agreements in various fields of cooperation, including the agreement related to the completion of Tindouf-Zouerate road, which will contribute to breaking the isolation of the border areas and developing trade exchanges between the two countries.
