Sudanese Interior Minister Visits National Security General Directorate

On 16 June, General Anan Hamid Mohamed, the Sudanese Interior Minister, accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Mahfoudh Brahim Ahmed, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior and Decentralization, visited the central headquarters of the General Directorate of National Security in Nouakchott, as part of the working visit he is currently paying to Mauritania at the head of a large delegation from his department.

The Sudanese Minister and the delegation accompanying him were welcomed by Major General Mesgharou Ould Sidi, the Director General of National Security, with several heads of offices and directorates at the General Directorate of National Security, while a detachment of the national police paid honor to the host delegation.

The delegation also held a working session with the Director General of National Security, in which members of the two delegations participated. The meeting discussed the possibilities for bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of security, to establish fruitful partnerships in areas of training, exchanging information, experience, and expertise, and coordination in the areas of combating illegal immigration, smuggling, and cross-border crime.
