President of Republic Returns to Nouakchott From Abidjan

On 9 May Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, returned to Nouakchott, from Abidjan, the capital of Cote d’Ivoire, after participating in the fifteenth session of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.

The President of the Republic was received at Nouakchott international airport by His Excellency Prime Minister Mohamed Ould Bilal Massoud, the Minister General Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister Counselor at the Presidency of the Republic, several government members, the Chief of Special Staff of the President of the Republic, the Assistant Director of the President’s Cabinet, the Governor of Western Nouakchott, and the head of the Nouakchott Region.

His Excellency the President of the Republic was accompanied by a large delegation that included:

– Ms. Aissata Diallo, the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development,
– Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the Director of Cabinet of the President of the Republic,
– Mr. Mohamed Abdallahi Ould Khatra, the Ambassador of Mauritania to Cote d’Ivoire,
– Mr. Ahmed Ould Bah, a.k.a H’Meida, an Advisor at the Presidency of the Republic,
– Mr. Saleh Ould Dahmache, an Officer in Charge of Special Duties at the Presidency of the Republic,
– Mr. El Hassan Ould Ahmed, the Director General of State Protocol.
