UNPM President Receives WFP Representative

On 9 March, Mr. Zeine El Abidine Cheikh Ahmed, the President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers (UNPM), received HE Ms. Kindai Andil Samba, the representative of the World Food Program to Mauritania.

During the meeting, Ould Cheikh Ahmed made a presentation on the efforts undertaken by UNPM in economic and social development, securing the supply of markets, and its contribution to containing the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic in its social and food aspects.

The WFP representative highlighted the importance of strengthening the partnership with the private sector partners regarding the convergence of interests and objectives to overcome the repercussions of the health crisis on vulnerable groups.

The two sides also discussed ways to boost cooperation between security authorities and economic players in Mauritania
