Health Minister Mr. Mohamed Nedhirou Ould Hamed indicated that Mauritania has acquired a great experience in the fight against AIDS, and that it should be valued and adopted in the policy planning and future orientation in this domain in a more efficient way.
He added, in a speech he made Tuesday via videoconference as part of the activities commemorating the World AIDS Day, that the policies followed to eradicate the disease are starting to bear fruit.
He specified that the number of HIV infections in Mauritania amounts to 5600 cases, of which 3500 benefit from medical care.
