Mauritania, Somalia Discuss Expanding Energy Cooperation

On July 9 in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, Mauritania’s Minister of Energy and Oil, held talks with Mr. Ali Omar, Somalia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on the energy sector.

The talks reviewed the longstanding ties between Mauritania and Somalia and explored opportunities to deepen collaboration across areas of mutual interest. Energy cooperation featured prominently in the discussions, as both sides examined ways to expand their partnership and enhance cooperation in the sector.

The meeting reflects the shared commitment of the two brotherly nations to reinforcing bilateral relations and advancing cooperation in support of their common development objectives.
