Livestock Minister Receives Saudi Delegation

On July 6 in Nouakchott, Minister of Livestock Sid Ahmed Ould Mohamed held talks with a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the General Supervisor of the Kingdom’s Hady and Adahi (Sacrificial Animals) Utilization Project. The delegation included representatives of 11 private companies operating in the livestock sector.

Discussions focused on animal health standards, compliance with international sanitary protocols, and export procedures, including livestock shipment and quarantine requirements, with the aim of facilitating trade and ensuring that exports meet the technical standards of destination markets.

The Saudi delegation was also briefed on Mauritania’s efforts to develop its livestock sector, one of the country’s most important economic resources. The initiatives are part of the government’s broader strategy to promote sustainable development and expand strategic partnerships, in line with the vision of President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister El Moctar Ould Djay.
