President of Republic Offers Condolences to Algerian Counterpart

On 18 September, the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, sent the following message of condolence to Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria following the death of former President Abdel Aziz Bouteflika, announced Friday.

“It is with dismay and deep sadness that we learned of the death of the former President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdel Aziz Bouteflika; May Allah shower His Mercy upon him.

On this painful occasion, I present to Your Excellency, and through you, to the brotherly Algerian people and to the members of the deceased’s family, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Mauritanian people, my most sincere condolences and the expression of my deep compassion.

While sharing with you the feelings of sadness for this painful loss, namely the disappearance of one of the statesmen of the Arab world, I implore the Almighty to grant the deceased Mercy, to welcome him in His immense Paradise and to inspire his family patience and perseverance.
