The President of the Republic praises the role of the Armed Forces and Security Forces in protecting the homeland and affirms the continuation of developing their capabilities

His Excellency the President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, affirmed his great pride in the role played by the Armed Forces and security forces in protecting the homeland and safeguarding its security and stability, praising the courage, discipline, and high sense of responsibility displayed by their members.

This came during a Ramadan Iftar banquet he held on the evening of Thursday (March 12, 2026), with a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, guards, gendarmes, police agents, and civil security agents, at the Atar garrison, as part of a tradition he has maintained during Ramadan of sharing the Iftar meal with members of the Armed Forces at various locations across the national territory.

His Excellency the President of the Republic explained that his previous Ramadan visits mostly included units stationed on or near the front lines, but the choice of Atar Garrison this time is due to its special nature, as it includes a mix of military formations ready to carry out their missions, alongside institutions specialized in training and preparing leaders, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers, represented by military schools.

His Excellency the President of the Republic pointed out that the tasks carried out by the members of the Armed Forces and Security Forces are often performed under difficult conditions, requiring them to be away from their families and endure many hardships, yet they face these with courage and dedication, which reflects the true meaning of military service.

His Excellency also emphasized that the nation highly values the efforts and sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and Security Forces, affirming that the state gives special attention to improving their professional and living conditions and continuously works on providing the necessary equipment and supplies to enable them to perform their duties in the best possible way.
