His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, today Tuesday in the city of Boghé in the Wilaya og Brakna, oversaw the inauguration of the rehabilitation of the Boghé- Kaedi road section.

The rehabilitation of the Boghé – Kaédi road is part of a major project launched by His Excellency the President of the Republic in late 2022. This initiative aims to rehabilitate hundreds of kilometers of the national road network to enhance traffic flow and safety measures. It includes several key sections: Aleg – Magta Lahjar, Djouk – Kiffa, Tintane – Aioun, Aioun – Aoueinat Zbil, Aoueinat Zbil – Timbedra, and Timbedra – Néma.

During the occasion, the Minister of Equipment and Transport, Mr. Ely Ould El Veirik, explained that the distribution of development projects since 2019 has been characterized by inclusivity and equity. He noted that work has been undertaken to complete more than 3,000 km of roads—including both new construction and reconstruction—with work sites distributed across the entire national territory.

The Minister added that the reconstruction of the Boghé – Kaédi road, which cost 853 million MRU funded by the State Treasury, was executed as part of a massive and unprecedented program to rebuild and rehabilitate the national road network.

Furthermore, the Minister reviewed in detail the significant road projects completed or currently underway since 2019, pointing out that thousands of kilometers of paved roads have been constructed during this period.
