Nouakchott, December 16, 2025 (MNA) – The National Mining Agency of Mauritania launched today, Tuesday, at its headquarters in Nouakchott, its integrated information system “Maadni”, dedicated to digitizing the management of artisanal and semi-industrial mining. The launch took place under the supervision of the Minister of Mines and Industry, Mr. Thiam Tijani, and the Minister of Digital Transformation and Administrative Modernization, Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould Bedeh Acfagha.
The launch of this platform comes in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, and within the framework of the work program of the Government of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diay, aimed at accelerating the pace of digital transformation, modernizing public administration, and enhancing governance and transparency in productive sectors.
The Director General of the National Agency for Minerals of Mauritania, Mr. Ba Othmane added that the integrated information system, ‘Ma’dani,’ is not just a digital project or a technical platform, but rather a fundamental structural step in establishing modern and effective governance in the field of artisanal and semi-industrial mining.and This initiative falls within a broader national dynamic for digital transformation, implemented in close coordination and with ongoing technical support from the sectors of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the National Agency for Population Registry and Secured Documents, and the Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, ensuring compliance with legal and technical standards, protection of public data, and its proper use.
The launch ceremony included a promotional video introducing the application, and the supervising engineer, Mr. Mohamed Al-Amine Ould Bouka, also gave a presentation explaining its features and services.
