The Football Federation organizes an International Seminar on Amateur Soccer

Nouakchott

Nouakchott, December 3, 2025 (W.A.) – The Mauritanian Football Federation organized today, Wednesday, in Nouakchott, an international seminar on amateur football, in collaboration with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

This event was held as part of efforts to strengthen international sports cooperation and to highlight innovative sports activities.

The seminar featured presentations analyzing the general environment of amateur football at the global level, in addition to an analysis of the amateur football environment in Mauritania in particular.

The Secretary-General of the Football Federation, Mr. Ahmed M’barek, explained that Mauritania is the first African country to organize this specialized seminar, making it a pioneer of this program on the continent.

He pointed out that one of the biggest challenges facing the development of football locally has always been the lack of infrastructure, appreciating in this regard the recent decision by the state to build a main stadium with a capacity of 25,000 seats, and one hundred secondary stadiums across the country, considering this decision a rescuing measure, as it fills a long-felt gap that has been a major obstacle to the advancement of the football sector.

For his part, the head of the FIFA mission, Mr. Max Duvleder, praised the organization of this seminar, noting that through its federation, Mauritania seeks to develop this important sector.
