Mauritania Participates in Twelfth Regional Meeting of National Commissions for UNESCO

Mauritania took part Wednesday in the proceedings of the Twelfth Regional Meeting of National Commissions for UNESCO, which was held in Samarkand, in the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the participation of the secretaries of the National Commissions of the member states of this organization.

This meeting, at which our country was represented by the Secretary-General of the Mauritanian National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, Mr. Mohamed Ould Sidi Abdallahi, aims to strengthen cooperation between the National Commissions, to exchange experiences and know-how on the central role of these commissions in supporting education, culture, and science, and generally to promote peace and sustainable development.

The participation of the Secretary-General of the Mauritanian National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science was an opportunity to reaffirm Mauritania’s commitment to supporting the objectives of UNESCO and to work toward strengthening regional cooperation in the fields of education, culture, sciences, and communication, serving sustainable development in the region and around the world.
