The Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mr. Abdallahi Ould Souleymane Ould Cheikh Sidiya, signed a financing agreement with the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Mr. Mohamed Al-Jasser, last Saturday in Washington, on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. The agreement, worth 29.26 million euros, is for the expansion of the Nouakchott Cardiology Hospital.
This agreement, concluded in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Lemine Ould El Dhehbi, aims to develop and expand the hospital by increasing its capacity, strengthening its medical equipment, and modernizing its infrastructure, in order to improve the quality of health services offered to citizens.
This project is part of the government’s efforts to promote the health sector and strengthen national capabilities in the field of treating heart disease.
